People are Crushed

Les Henson

We live in a world of inner confusion where people have lost their way. People no longer know what life is about or whether it has any meaning at all. People are so busy that they rarely get a chance to stop and think. They are almost always moving on to the next thing, the next event, or the next task. There is little room for re-evaluating their lives or contemplating the meaning and purpose of their lives. There is a sense of futility, of not getting anywhere, running around in circles, and being up against it. There is a recognition that life has faded. People are crushed, all energy has been sucked out of life, and the music has died. Consequently, we are like ‘a blind person searching in a dark room for a black cat that isn’t there’ as the philosophers have suggested. We have lost our way, and we will never be at rest until we rediscover the way.
