The Sun Shines Through the Rain (Poem)

The sun shines through the rain

enabling life and growth.

Amid the gloom of a world overcome

by disappointment, desolation and fear.

The sun shines in the most unexpected places

as the earth revolves around the sun.

Even while its inhabitants are engrossed

in their daily toil, it brings moments of unmitigated joy.

The sun shines in the deep crevasses of life

exposing one’s heart to its life-giving rays.

The darkness is dissolved and dissipated

by the hope that it generates during hardest of times.

The sun shines and the darkness

can never fully comprehend it.

For its light lightens the heart and mind

in mysterious ways beyond one’s imagination.

The sun shines bringing life

to those who submit to its life-gving rays.

It penetrates deep within

liberating one from all life’s bondages and fears.

May, the sun shine brightly this day and every day

upon those who embrace its life-giving rays.
