Come (Poem)

Les Henson

Come

All who are exhausted

by the world’s problems

and the screw ups that take place

every day of the week.

Come

Everyone frustrated by the politicians

who promise the world

yet come through with so little

blaming everyone but themselves.

Come

All who are discombobulated

by the lack of openness

and clarity of your leaders

talking much yet saying little.

Come

Everyone burdened by those

who corrupt your thinking

and lead you down paths

of emptiness and vanity.

Come

All who are crushed by dead-end jobs

that barely put bread on the table

leaving you unchallenged

and in a world of discontent.

Come

All who are downcast

and troubled by strife

for my yoke is easy

and my burden is light.
