A Faded Life
Many people today believe that it is okay to do whatever they like provided they get away with it. It’s okay to steal from their boss, cheat on their wife/husband, or tell lies to gain a financial advantage as long as no one finds out about it. But in reality, does anyone get away with it? Are there not consequences upon our lives despite not being found out? Do not the results of our actions affect who we are as a person? Is our character not diminished as a result of the accumulation of such activities? Indeed, we have the freedom to choose our actions and to do what we want, but we are not free to choose the consequences of our actions. The results seem to have a life of their own—the universe as a habit of biting us in the bum. There is something or someone, with which we must get to grips, or we get hurt, and our life is diminished. It becomes faded. Indeed, there are always consequences to our actions either for good or bad.
