Childhood Memories (Poem)

At the beginning of a new day

as darkness slowly turns to light.

The mind wonders to days gone by

when life was so much simpler.

Childhood memories come and go

in the netherworld preceding dawn.

Memories so vivid and vibrant

but somehow so distant and remote.

Memories of days and years gone bye

that can never be reclaimed.

Remembered and regained for a while

only to be lost again upon waking.
