Poem: No Ground Under Our Feet (Poem)

No Ground Under Our Feet
The world is upside-down, inside-out,
and the wrong way round.
It’s changing so rapidly that we find no place to stand,
there’s no ground beneath our feet.
Truth is in short supply in this crazy upside-down world,
where endless lies and so-called fake news prevail.
Yet reality can be sought and found upon the long and winding road,
rather than bought like cheap candy-floss at the fairground.
Justice is in short supply in this crazy upon-side-down world,
where everyone does what is right in their own eyes.
The weak are down trodden and oppressed,
with no place to rest their weary heads.
Mercy is mocked and scorned in this crazy upside-down world,
where power and might prevail.
The lowly are forever despised and abused,
all places of refuge are being removed.
Love is distorted and profaned in this crazy upside-down world,
where sexual abuse and carnal ways reign without restraint.
Compassion and care is a vestige of the past,
and harshness is the order of the day.
Now is the time to resist and revolt against this crazy upside-down world,
where power seekers, with fake hair, appear to triumph.
We must stand against such foolishness, corruption and deceit,
trusting the One who will make all things new.
For the world shall be turned the right-way-up,
and all wrongs shall be righted.
Justice and mercy will prevail in a recreated world,
where truth shall be seen and love displayed.
Where at last there is a place to stand,
and ground beneath our feet.
