The sea raged crashing on the rocky shore as the salt filled air ate tirelessly at the iron railings on the town wall. An old man in a cloth cap walked wearily along the town wall thinking thoughts of days gone by when he was young. He stopped to watch the pounding waves as he pondered the days of his youth when life held so many hopes and expectations. He thought of opportunities waylaid and hopes misspent in distant days as he continued long the town wall. The crashing wave
At the beginning of a new day as darkness slowly turns to light. The mind wonders to days gone by when life was so much simpler. Childhood memories come and go in the netherworld preceding dawn. Memories so vivid and vibrant but somehow so distant and remote. Memories of days and years gone bye that can never be reclaimed. The best things in life
are unassuming and ordinary.
The smile of a mother
and the laughter of children.
A long walk in the early morning..
An evening with mates
amid the cut-an-thrust of debate.
The simplest of meals
eaten with family and friends.
Watching a wild sea
as it crashes on the rocks.
Reading a good book,
curled up on the couch.
The warmth of the sun
after the recesses of winter.
It is the simple things in life
that make life so worthwhile.
On entering the church the sign read,

All are healthy, wealthy and fulfilled,
problems are something of the past.
Beautiful people in designer clothes
are so thin they cast no shadow,
amid the flashing lights and mega music.
Yet real people cast shadows
that meander across the whole of life,
which only the grace of God can dispel. #Shadows #
